Inclusion at Limber Pine

“Inclusion works to the advantage of everyone. We all have things to learn and we all have something to teach.” - Helen Henderson, Center For The Advancement Of Well-Being

At Limber Pines Summer Camp, inclusion is at the heart of every adventure, conversation, and experience we create. We believe that when adolescents feel supported, valued, and connected, they gain the confidence to grow into resilient and compassionate leaders. Through nature-based experiences in the breathtaking landscapes surrounding Salt Lake City, campers learn the power of teamwork, encouragement, and authentic human connection.

Our camp environment is intentionally designed to ensure every teen feels welcomed, respected, and empowered to be themselves. In a world where many adolescents struggle with comparison, isolation, and social pressure, Limber Pine provides a space where individuality is celebrated and meaningful relationships are built through shared experiences outdoors.

Whether navigating hiking trails in the Wasatch Mountains, participating in collaborative wilderness challenges near Big Cottonwood Canyon, or working together during leadership and team-building activities, campers discover that growth happens best when people support one another. Through these experiences, teens develop empathy, communication skills, trust, and a stronger sense of belonging.

Building Teamwork Through Nature

Nature has a unique way of bringing people together. At Limber Pine, campers quickly learn that outdoor adventure thrives on teamwork and mutual support. From setting up campsites to overcoming obstacles on the trail, every activity encourages collaboration, accountability, and encouragement among peers.

The Lasting Impact of Inclusion

When teens feel included, they are more willing to take healthy risks, try new experiences, and discover strengths they may not have recognized in themselves before. An environment built on encouragement and support allows adolescents to grow without fear of judgment, helping them become more confident, socially connected, and emotionally grounded.

At Limber Pine Summer Camp, inclusion creates opportunities for campers to learn from one another’s perspectives, backgrounds, personalities, and experiences. Through outdoor adventure and shared challenges, teens develop a stronger understanding of cooperation, adaptability, and trust — skills that extend far beyond camp and into school, friendships, family relationships, and future leadership roles.

We believe some of life’s most meaningful growth happens when young people realize they are part of something bigger than themselves. By fostering an atmosphere of teamwork, compassion, and belonging, Limber Pine helps campers build authentic connections and develop the confidence to support others while staying true to who they are.
